PORTFOLIO

At Studio Black Dot we believe that every space, no matter its shape or size, has the potential to become unique, harmonious and beautiful. Our success has to do with our thorough understanding that each client and each space deserve our utmost attention. We give each room a unique identity while making sure the entire home feels like a cohesive whole. Take a look at some of the spaces we’ve created and schedule your appointment with us to feel the Studio Black Dot difference.

CUBE FOYER

We dressed up this space with a mix of materials. Use of fabric, handmade paper and mirror tiles added charm to this unusual foyer. We planned a set of different sized cubes to furnish the foyer wall and maximize space. Adding a notch to each cube enabled us to omit handles and that gave a sleek, sophisticated look that is ready to impress. Since the foyer received very little natural light, some of the cubes were designed to be backlit. This gave the whole foyer a very subtle ambient lighting. A seat was created with support from 2 small cubes.

POOJA

Designing this sleek Pooja area in a Mumbai apartment was so stimulating and exciting. The rectangular frames with different dimensions were made to create an impression of an arch. These were further used to hang the copper bell and the copper diyas. The paint was used to define the pooja area.

RUSTIC POWDER ROOM

At this upscale modern home, we created a sensorial experience in a small powder room. Pieces of a broken mirror were arranged in a way that it reminisced of rain water falling and collecting in puddles. The stained, roughly plastered, textured wall further added to the experience. Even a small utilitarian space can tell a story.

 BABY NURSERY

This room was created from scratch out of the double height space that the living room had. Taking advantage of a terrace adjacent to the room a window was added to the room. The raised bed was placed at the far end of the room. The details on the headboard adds visual interest to the room. The interesting bookshelf houses some of the child’s books and toys. A wardrobe was placed right next to the entrance to the room. The wardrobe has a folding table on the side as well as stools with storage as part of the bottom of the wardrobe.

INSPIRED SHAKER KITCHEN

A large kitchen in a contemporary villa was planned so that there was efficient utilization of space. All the storage was optimized for the client’s individual storage needs. This two-tone kitchen has a lot of interesting details going on. We can’t say enough about the inspired Shaker style flat shutters which add depth to the entire kitchen. The bottom units in a subtle olive shade have a paneled Shaker style detail. The top units in a gentle beige shade have a Shaker style detail. In addition, it also features a few shutters covered partially with transparent glass. This showcases all the beautiful glassware while all other things are hidden behind closed doors. Café style backsplash and a hand sponged breakfast bar help to ground the kitchen.

MELLOW KITCHEN

While planning the kitchen of this earthy villa, we added a much-needed section to the kitchen to make the L-shaped open plan kitchen a partially open kitchen. This section housed the breakfast bar as well as extra storage. We suggested a mellow yellow kitchen as the space was flooded with natural light during the daytime. The client just loved it and thanked us for the yellow kitchen. It was accentuated by the lightly sponged kitchen walls which provided visual texture. The result is a place of balance and beauty, in harmony with its surroundings.
