Growing up… Was it my mom’s still life and sketches and her outlook about perceiving beauty in our environment... Was it the constant exposure to the art and crafts of India or going through my uncle’s Scandinavian design books. What were the major inspirations?

The more one observes, the more one understands and as the understanding grows so does the observation and one just expands their horizons. That’s about the initiation of Studio Black Dot, driven by a passion for design, driven by experiences, driven by experimentation, driven by skills, driven by understanding, driven by communication, driven by people.

Focusing on one project at a time, living the project and giving the best to the clients requirements and expectations is how we do it.

MITA
Founder and Principal Designer
With a degree in computers from the M S University of Baroda, Mita’s childhood passion got the better of her and she made the switch from software engineer to interior designer. Mita uses her innate sense of colour in conjunction with her love for different materials to add life to the interiors she creates for her clients. Her approach to the creation of each individual interior space is unique, her style subtle with understated elegance defining her interiors.

When Mita is not designing, she enjoys cycling, hiking, going for picnics. She also loves travelling and rustling up new as well as old recipes.
